Meet Our Port Orange Dentist
Dr. Sean Bannan
Dr. Sean Bannan grew up with dentistry as a major part of his life. His father, who is also a dentist, served as an early mentor to him, giving him the opportunity to see what dentistry was really all about. He was fortunate to be able to work as a dental assistant for several years under his father, as well as several other dentists in Denver, Colorado. These valuable opportunities provided him with significant experience before he even began his formal dental education.
Dr. Bannan went on to complete his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University, receiving his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Physiology. He then attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he was awarded his degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. His current affiliations include the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the Central Florida District Dental Association, the Volusia – Flagler County Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Today, Dr. Bannan is still committed to the idea of continual, lifelong learning, and he regularly attends continuing education events in order to stay up to date on the latest treatments, techniques, and technologies in the dental world. “I wake up excited every day, knowing that I get to do what I love,” he says. “My absolute favorite part of dentistry is the ability to form relationships with people of all walks of life, and to be able to have such a profound, positive impact is truly humbling and an honor. The trust that patients have in me when providing dental care is something I do not take lightly or for granted. I strive to treat each and every person I see in the same manner as if they were a family member of mine. Simply put, I love what I do.”
While dentistry is truly Dr. Bannan’s passion, he strongly believes in maintaining a work/life balance. When he is not at the office, you can typically find him on the golf course, on the ski slopes, cheering for the Michigan State Spartans, playing on the beach, or spending time with his family. He and his wife Kate are the proud parents of two sons, Logan and Miles.
